A seminar on contribution of PSTU in digitalization of Bangladesh was held on May 5 at PSTU auditorium. Honorable State Minister for ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology Architect Yafes Osman was present as chief guest on the seminar.
Chief Speaker of the seminar, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Patuakhali Science and Technology University Professor Dr. Syed Sakhawat Hussian delivered keynote on the seminar. The convener of seminar arrangement committee and Dean of Post graduate studies Professor Dr. Abul Khasem Chowduary was the chair . Md. Mahafuzur Rahman , Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council, Md. Harun-or-Rasid Howlader, chairman of Dumki Upazilla and the Registrar of PSTU were also present as special guests.
Chief Guest, Honorable Minister, architect Yafes Osman underscored the unity of teachers and employees for the development of the university and the country as well..He became glad to observe the digitalization activities of Patuakhali Science and Technology University. He assured that all kinds of assistance will be given from the ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology. He said, he will inform digitalization activities of PSTU to the honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.
Before attending the seminar the Honorable minister, vice-chancellor and Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council along with other guests visited the Cyber Center of Patuakhali Science and Technology University at the Central Library . Basically, this cyber center has developed by the courtesy of Ministry of ICT and Bangladesh Computer Council(BCC). Md. Mahafuzur Rahman , Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council remarked the cyber centre as one of the top most cyber centers in Bangladesh in contest of environment , facilities and maintenance.
After the seminar the Minister observed various software such as electrical and electronics device control through SMS, Online Examination Controller Management System, Student and Teacher Database management , Library Automation, Residential Hall Management, Store Management and Farmer Management which were developed by PSTU CSE students.
