This article introduces a new dual-band metamaterial absorber (MTMA) for EMI sheilding and energy harvesting applications. A FR-4 substrate material with a thickness of 1.6 mm is employed to design the MTMA structure. The proposed design has an outer boundary split ring resonator and inner three hexagonal split ring resonators (OSRRs) connected with four metal strips which inverted spider net shaped resonators, and it can operate at two distinct frequencies, 2.57 GHz with the absorption 99.23 % and 7.16 GHz with the absorption 99.98 % for TE mode, as well as 99.04 % at 2.56 GHz and 99.95 % at 7.16 GHz for TM mode, respectively. The unit cell size is 8 mm by 8 mm. The design development, metamaterial characteristics, equivalent circuit model (ECM), surface current analysis, magnetic field, and electric field are explored to understand the absorption mechanism of the MTMA. In addition, the designed MTMA exhibits polarization and oblique incident angle up to 30 degrees and 45 degrees for both TM and TE modes with excellence EMR value (14.59). The suggested MTMA offers more than 46 dB shielding effectiveness and, the simulation results for the unit cell indicate that the suggested harvester has a much greater conversion efficiency, higher than 96.86 %. There is a notable relationship between the simulation and experimental findings within the specified frequency ranges. Its outstanding shielding qualities and energy harvesting system make it a perfect choice for EMI shielding in wireless sensor networks, with a focus on efficiency and compactness.
