Khadiza Khatun (Ph.D.) is a Professor of Biotechnology department at Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Dumki, Patuakhali, Bangladesh. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons.) from Patuakhali Science and Technology University, where she achieved CGPA 3.94 out of 4.00, received a Gold Medal for being first in her class. She also completed a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh, where she achieved CGPA 3.968 out of 4.00 in 2008. In 2014 she received her Ph.D. with a dissertation on ‘Molecular characterization and expression profiling of abiotic stress responsive gene families in Solanum lycopersicum L.’ from the Sunchon National University, South Korea. Later, she completed her postdoctoral training program on Climate Smart Agriculture from Wageningen University, Netherlands in 2022. In 2009, Khadiza Khatun joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology at Patuakhali Science and Technology University. Since then she has received three early promotions becoming a Full Professor in November 2020; all within the same university. At present, her work mainly involves research including tissue culture, plant molecular biology and biotechnology in relation to different plant diseases, and biotic and abiotic stresses. Currently, she is co-supervising one MS students.
